Christmas at Union Station – 50th Anniversary Celebration

The Durham Museum is celebrating 50 years of Christmas at Union Station, one of Omaha’s most beloved holiday traditions! Since 1975, the museum has welcomed families to gather around the region’s largest indoor Christmas tree, enjoy festive music, meet Santa, and make magical winter memories together.

This year, The Durham debuts a brand-new experience: an indoor sock skating pond! Slip, slide and laugh across a winter wonderland—no skates or cold toes required.

🌲 Omaha’s Official Christmas Tree

Nov. 28 – Jan. 11
Marvel at the nearly 40-foot-tall Christmas tree donated by Stephen & CJ Carr of La Vista.

🎄 Tree Lighting Ceremony

Friday, Nov. 29 • 4–8PM (tree lights at ~7PM)
Kick off the season with live music from Jordi and the Jitterbugs, cookie decorating, crafts, a scavenger hunt, and Santa!

🎅 Santa’s Cabin – Open Daily

Kids can visit Santa in his cozy cabin or chat with him on the old-fashioned Santa phone.

🎄 Family Nights with Santa

Tuesdays, Dec. 2, 9, 16 & 23 • 5–8PM
Special nighttime family fun with Santa, crafts, live music, the FNBO Elfie Scavenger Hunt, and an indoor snowfall under the grand tree.
(Museum closes 4–5PM to reset.)

❄️ Sock Skating Pond (New!)

Nov. 28 – Jan. 11
A brand-new, indoor sock-skating experience surrounded by nostalgic winter scenes from Omaha’s past.

🌍 Holiday Cultural Festival

Friday, Dec. 5 • 4–9PM
Explore global holiday traditions with 30+ cultural groups, music, dance, crafts, food, and gifts.

🎶 Holiday Concert Series

Weekends & Tuesday evenings • Nov. 29–Dec. 23, 5–8PM
Live holiday music performed under the glow of the Union Station tree.

🎉 Noon Year’s Eve

Wednesday, Dec. 31 • 10AM–2PM
Family-friendly New Year’s fun featuring Dino O’Dell & the T-Rex All-Stars, crafts, and a balloon drop at noon.
