When Tae Bennett’s was 12 years old her 2-year-old dog, Ollie, was stolen while she was talking him for a walk in the park. The thieves were able to cut through her dogs leash and they took off with Ollie before she even knew what happened.
She thought the best way to find Ollie would be to use social media. She and her parents put together a Facebook page called “Find Ollie.” She posted all of Ollies details and encouraged her friends and family to share it on their pages.
The Facebook group was active our a while but after a few years it died down. Tae gave up all hope on finding Ollie. She eventually got another dog , a dachshund named Chili.
Then as luck would have it someone reached out to her , 10 years later to tell her that Ollie had been found. He had been found by some children who were playin in a park just 20 miles from where she was living. Ollie’s distinctive marks helped identify him as well as a microchip. Once he was identified , Tae and her family were reunited with sweet Ollie!
The good news is that Ollie was in good condition and Tae tearfully admitted that she was surprised that Ollie recognized her since she looks a whole lot different now. She let he Facebook group members in on the good news and is so grateful to have Ollie back!
