Out for her usual Deliveries, Jessica Higgs who works for Instacart trusted her gut when she made a delivery back in February. It’s documented in a TikTok that has had over 16.5 million views, where Jessica shared her incredible story.
The delivery she made had instructions for her to just leave the groceries on the porch. The customer had ordered the food for her father, who was not able to do his own shopping.
“I got there and something was telling me, ‘You’ve got to help this man out,’” she recalls in the video. “You’re not supposed to go inside someone’s house, but I used my judgment and I brought the groceries inside.”
When Jessica went inside she noticed that something was off with her customer.’s father.
She said she could not leave him and then took it upon herself to message the customer to tell her that she noticed that her father looked off and like he wasn’t feeling well.
She also explained to the customer that she was feeling dizzy and suggested it might have been a gas leak since she and helped him bring the groceries into the house.
The customer let her know she would send someone over to investigate the situation. Later in the day the customer changed Higgs’s tip from $14 to $100
It turned out when the customer’s son went to check on her father, there was indeed a gas leak that could have been fatal. Jessica was quite emotional when telling her story on the video and the Instacart company even paid tribute to her!
