Earlier this summer, six-year-old Becca Vaughan of Evansville, Indiana, saw a homeless man holding up a sign in her community, asking for help. She also realized that it was very hot outside — and wanted to make sure the homeless man, and others, were safe and comfortable in the heat.

So, Becca — with help from her mother — used Facebook to collect money to help those in need.

This charity campaign resulted in her buying and donating 186 water bottles to people at a local shelter.

Becca even took the extra step of handing out thank you cards to those who donated to the effort. And, she has plans to continue raising money and helping others in the weeks and months to come.
