As a parent, when your child is going through a health crisis, there’s nothing that can keep you from supporting them.

When Chuck and Lori Yielding of Fort Worth, Texas, received the devastating news that their 14-year-old son Aiden had leukemia, they knew they would be taking him in for treatment at Cook Children’s Medical Center.

Lori works at the hospital, so they were able to launch into a rigorous treatment plan right away. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, Cook Children’s has a new rule that only one family member can stay with their loved one while they’re receiving chemotherapy.

Undaunted, Chuck found another way to be with his son during treatment. Every Tuesday while Aiden is at the hospital with Lori, Chuck shows up in the parking lot outside. He brings a speaker full of upbeat music with him — and a serious commitment to boogie!

The awesome dad was determined to bring a smile to his son’s face, and he’s definitely succeeding! He’s always looking for increasingly amusing dance routines to perform while Aiden watches from a window inside and tries to follow along

.“It’s funny watching him figuring out all that he is going to do,” Aiden said. “Yup. It just cheers me up sometimes.

”Aiden isn’t the only one who enjoys seeing Chuck’s ever-expanding dance repertoire. The hospital employees always anticipate the dad’s visits, as does Lori

“Family is everything, togetherness is everything, but even when you can’t be together as a whole family as a unit, you find ways that you can,” the mom explained.

As for Chuck, he said he would do “anything to bring his spirits up a little bit.” Of course, the dances are also a way to show Aiden that he’s not going through treatment alone. His dad is right there with him, even from three stories away!
