“I hope one of y’all pick me,” said Jordan, the adorable kid, who’s been in the care of the State’s Dept. of Human Services for 6 years. But things seem to be changing for Jordan after he made it clear that he’d love nothing more than to be a part of a family.

His heartfelt plea seemed to resonate with people because the Oklahoma DHS was flooded with interest in Jordan. Casey White, an Oklahoma DHS official, told TMZ that there were 5,000 online inquiries in the first 12 hours of the segment airing.

According to Casey, the department had to establish an overtime plan just to field all of the calls and emails they are receiving. But they’re making it work because they are committed to finding the best home for Jordan as quickly as possible.

In his short 9 years, Jordan’s been through a lot, including some traumatic events. He’s best suited to be an only child or to have a much older sibling, so his adoptive parents can give him the attention and support he needs.

With the huge public outpour and all the interest in his adoption, DHS is confident that Jordan will be a part of a loving family in the next six months.

Because some previous adoptions have fallen through, once DHS finds the right fit, there will be a trial period.

That’s why Jordan doesn’t know about the viral attention he’s getting. The DHS is careful to keep all of this from the boy, so he doesn’t get his hopes up and end up getting hurt if it doesn’t go according to plan.

But all signs point to Jordan being adopted soon!
