The FDA is warning against using 9 brands of hand sanitizers because they could contain a poisonous compound called methanol, also called wood alcohol. Wood alcohol is SO poisonous that it shouldn’t even be poured down a drain because it can poison the water supply. According to FDA.gov, all the hand sanitizers are made by a company called EskBiochem, located in Mexico. Here are the names of all 9 products, according to the FDA:

- Esk Biochem Hand Sanitizer
- CleanCare NoGerm Advanced Hand Sanitizer 75% Alcohol
- Lavar 70 Gel Hand Sanitizer
- The Good Gel Antibacterial Gel Hand Sanitizer
- CleanCare NoGerm Advanced Hand Sanitizer 80% Alcohol
- CleanCare NoGerm Advanced Hand Sanitizer 75% Alcohol
- CleanCare NoGerm Advanced Hand Sanitizer 80% Alcohol
- Saniderm Advanced Hand Sanitizer
