Many couples fondly remember the first time they met and never forget the spark that brought them together.
Only Heidi and Ed Savitt spent years recalling the wrong moment! They were under the impression that their love story began in college. Little did they know, that wasn’t the first time they’d crossed paths
In 2011, Ed moved into student housing at England’s Newcastle University, where Heidi just so happened to go. She had even previously lived where Ed was living, so when he couldn’t figure out how to use the washing machine, he found her on Facebook and asked for help.
Weeks later, they ran into each other again during a night out. The rest was history! They dated for five years before tying the knot in 2016.
While they were still engaged, the two of them made a stunning discovery!
They were having a family dinner one night when Heidi’s mom, Kay Parker, brought up a vacation they had taken to Turkey in 1997. There, she recalled, a young Heidi had found a boyfriend named Ed.
It seemed like a coincidence at first, but when Kay sent Heidi a photo of the little boy, she couldn’t believe her eyes. It was her Ed!Neither Ed nor Heidi remembered meeting each other back then, but the pictures were undeniable!As it turns out, they’d both been on vacation in Bodrum, Turkey, at the time. As Heidi puts it, their meeting in college was actually “love at second sight.”
Kay explained that during the trip, they had met another family from London at the resort where they were staying. Heidi and Ed immediately hit it off, and the 6-year-olds spent most of their time playing together. Nearly 20 years later, they exchanged vows!
“It was brilliant,” Heidi said. “We love telling people how we met, twice.”We’re so happy these two came back into each other’s lives. Whether it was coincidence or fate, one thing is certain: Heidi and Ed have an amazing love story!
