Tom Moore, the WWII vet who raised more than $36 million for the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) by walking laps around his garden received more than 140,000 cards for his 100th birthday yesterday
Captain Tom Moore’s goal was to complete 100 laps by his 100th birthday. His family chronicled his daily exercise on Twitter as the story quickly went viral, causing Moore to surpass his fundraising goals in 24 hours.
Moore raised over $36 million for NHS Charities Together, NHS’s fundraising arm that supports staff, patients, and facilities of the UK’s healthcare system.
The Queen herself even sent him a special birthday card!!
He has received so many birthday cards, Moore can’t bring them home and is storing them at his Grandson’s school.
