Stuck At Home Survival Guide

Kids are home from school. You’re probably working from home…or at least trying. You need a little entertainment to keep you and your family from going stir crazy!

Social Distancing doesn’t need to keep you apart from your family and friends…if you connect with them online! It’s easier than you think with the use of your smartphone, tablet and apps like Houseparty and Snap Chat. Although staying connected through technology is not the same as in person, but it’s a great temporary solution. You can also try the following options to help with the adjustment to our lives:

FaceTime Groups:

  • Open FaceTime on your iPhone or iPad
  • Tap on the + in the upper right corner
  • Type the name of the person you want to call
  • Enter up to 30 additional contacts
  • Tap on Video or Audio to place your call

Zoom Cloud Meetings:

  • Download and open the Zoom app on your mobile device or tablet
  • Click on Join A Meeting
  • Enter the meeting ID number and type in your display name
  • Select if you want to join vis voice or video

Google Hangout:

  • Go to hangouts.google.com or open Hangouts in Gmail
  • At the top of the page, click on New Conversation
  • Enter and select a name and/or e-mail address
  • Type your message on your keyboard and press enter

You can sign up for 15-min advice sessions with a mentor from the strtgst community. Since a large group of us are working remotely, we thought it was a great opportunity to test out MMC virtually. Cocktails & Culture Virtual Happy Hour w/ Dan & Dano’s – Friday at 5:00 PM CST

Dano’s Tequilla & Dan Price, creative director at Superunion, to host ‘Cocktails & Culture with Dan & Dano’s’ – a weekly virtual happy hour on Fridays at 6pm EST.
