Researchers Want To Study Your Dog

The Associated Press reports that researchers are looking for 10,000 dogs to study and your dog could be one of them.  The best part is that your dog just goes about his normal life at home during the research.  The Aging Dog Project, just as it sounds, is studying aging in dogs.  Scientists hope to use what they learn to develop a pill that makes dogs live longer, and humans, too.

All ages, sizes, breeds and mutts are welcome and your dog will just go about his normal routine.   The National Institute on Aging is paying for the $23 million project.  They say dogs and humans share the same environment, are prone to the same ailments, and because dogs have shorter lifespans, it allows the study to get results faster.

So, if you would like to help science, and maybe even help dogs live longer, here’s your chance.  The link to the website is DogAgingProject.org.
