Shop Worker Finds $7K in Coat Pocket and Gives it Back to the Owner!

A thrift store clerk in Valparaiso, Indiana, found $7,000 in cash in the pocket of a donated coat — and was able to track down the owner to return the money.

Jennifer Kimes, who works at the thrift store Plato’s Closet, found a big roll of $100 bills when examining a donated coat.

She immediately put the money in a safe spot in the cash register — then called her boss Tammy Wendland.

From there, Jennifer and Tammy were able to figure out who donated the coat — and contact the man, who explained that he had hidden the money in the coat but forgot that he had put it there.

The man was understandably grateful to have the money returned. And, Jennifer and Tammy felt great that they were able to do the right thing by getting the money back into the hands of its rightful owner.
