Today is National Drive-Thru Day!   The first drive-thru restaurant,  started fueling drivers with food in 1947. Located on Route 66 in Springfield, Missouri, at Red’s Giant Hamburg, its run lasted until 1984. Wendy’s has quickest service, Chick-fil-A is most accurate.

 

70 % of Fast Food Business is done through Drive – Thru’s.

McDonalds did not have Drive-Thru’s until 1975

The first Drive-Thru focused hamburger chain was In and Out Burger in Las Angeles.

You can get the fastest service at a drive thru in the mid-morning between 10 am and Noon.

Fact

Fact – McDonald’s was actually a late arrival in the drive-thru revolution, opening their first drive thru opened in 1975 in Sierra Vista, Arizona. Other fast food titans like Jack in the Box, In-n-Out, were first in using drive thru’s.

Fake – It was Jack-In-The-Box which opened in 1951.  The original Jack in the Box was in San Diego and was drive-thru-only, offering motorists hamburgers to go for 18¢ apiece.

Fake – It is actually the early afternoon time, right after lunch.
