RIVER’S EDGE TACO FEST

FLOODING FORCES CANCELLATION

Omaha – June 17, 2019 – River’s Edge Taco Fest – Today, River’s Edge Taco Fest organizers announced their decision to cancel Taco Fest scheduled for August 3 at River’s Edge Park. Due to the severe flooding to the Omaha and Council Bluffs area, Taco Fest organizers felt it was the best decision to cancel the event at this time. The majority of River’s Edge Park is flooded, and it is not expected to subside or be cleaned up prior to the event.

“We are extremely disappointed that Taco Fest won’t return to River’s Edge Park in 2019,” said Tim Young one of the Taco Fest Organizers. “We spent the better part of the last three weeks trying to find a solution including an alternative site or using a smaller portion of River’s Edge Park. At the end of the day, we realized the experience for Taco Fest fans would not be the same and that is our number-one goal.”

Taco Fest organizers have also announced that 100% of ticket sales and service fees would be returned to customers that have already purchased tickets. Restaurants, Sponsors, Chihuahua participants, and Vendors will also receive a 100% refund.

“If we waited and tried to make it happen the risk was too high,” said Young. “Doing this now allows us to refund everyone and begin to make plans for 2020’s Taco Fest.”
