Star 104.5 is proud to partner with the Alzheimer’s Association for The Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
Star 104.5 is the proud media partner for two walks this year with the Alzheimer’s Association. One in Sarpy County on Sunday, Aug. 25th, and one in Omaha on Sunday, Sept. 22nd. We would love for you to sign up as a Team Captain, join a team or register to walk as an individual for both of these phenomenal events, or sign up for the one that works best for you at alz.org/walk.
Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. In Nebraska alone, there are more than 34,000 people living with the disease and 83,000 caregivers. In the United States, 5.8 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease, the sixth-leading cause of death in and the only disease among the top 10 causes that cannot be cured, prevented or even slowed. Additionally, more than 16 million family and friends provide care to people with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.
Walk participants will complete a walk route, and will learn about Alzheimer’s disease, advocacy opportunities, clinical studies enrollment and support programs and services from the Alzheimer’s Association. Participants will also join in a meaningful tribute ceremony to honor those affected by Alzheimer’s disease.
