Rest in peace, Doris Day, who has passed away at the age of 97. Here are some interesting things I bet you didn’t know about her….
1) Her dream was to be a professional dancer, but the night before she and her dance partner were to leave for an audition in Hollywood, she broke both her legs in a terrible car wreck. It took her years to recover and while she did, she started taking singing lessons.
2) She was offered the role of Mrs. Robinson in the Graduate, but she turned it down.
3) She hated the song Que Sera Sera. The first time she heard it, she said it sounded like a sing-songy children’s rhyme. She was eventually talked into singing it in the the movie “The Man Who Knew Too Much,” and it became her signature song for the rest of her life.
