The 22nd Annual Sports For Kids Benefit Auction will be held this Saturday evening, January 28, 2012, at the German-American Society in Omaha. Doors will open at 6:00 PM, and the Live Auction will begin at 7:00. Proceeds from the event support the Sports For Kids Foundation and its mission of assisting special needs children in Nebraska and throughout the US.
Over 200 items will be up for bid during Silent and Live auctions held throughout the evening. Auction coordinator Al Vacanti welcomes 16 members from Creighton’s Lady Jays softball and volleyball teams who will be among the volunteers working throughout the evening, and adds that this year’s collection of items is considered to be the best yet. Among the items are:
A 2-night stay in a 635 square foot King Suite at Wynn Resort in Las Vegas
Golf for 4 at The Prairie Club in Valentine, Nebraska
Omaha Lancers @ Tri-City Storm – 2 tickets, food + lodging
A “Jersey Boys” theatre poster signed by Frankie Valli
Lithos & Photos signed by Stan Musial, John Elway, Larry Bird and Jack Nicklaus
Autographed jerseys from Clay Matthews, Yogi Berra, Terry Bradshaw & Roger Staubach
Autographed bats from Cal Ripken, Jr., Jorge Posada, Alex Gordon and Prince Fielder
Autographed baseballs from Ron Santo, Derek Jeter, Johnny Damon and Clayton Kershaw
Autographed photos from George W. Bush, Danica Patrick, Yogi Berra and Sarah Palin
Getaway trips for 2 to Kansas City and Chicago
Golf foursomes, restaurant gift certificates, signed banners and theatre performances
