Grieving During the Holidays.

  • Print

We’d like to share with you information about our Grief Education and Support Program. Our peer, grief groups are for adults who have experienced a death. They are open to the public and there is no fee. Our next session will focus on Grieving During the Holidays. Instead of experiencing warmth and generosity, grievers may feel diminished by the emotions of grief and the memories of past seasons. Yet we know the season can be a time of peace with opportunities for sharing and caring with family and friends. During our gatherings we will discuss strategies to reduce anxieties and to give meaning to this busy time. Our support groups meet in six-week cycles. We come together for six weeks, take a three or four week break and then have another session. People are welcome to join us whenever their schedules allow and continue as long as they’d like. It is common for people to come for many sessions. Our aim is to be available to them as they move ahead into the future and meet new challenges. We choose the topics for each meeting depending on who is in the group and where they are on their journey.
