You don't need to know a great deal about poker to take part.  Essentially, a poker run is an excuse to meet people, benefit worthy causes, and have a good time!!
This is an “all ages” event; however, if you are under 21, you must be accompanied by an adult.  Participants will begin at The Arena Sports Bar & Grill.  There you will pick up details of the route, your score sheet(s), your first card, and a list of the stops you need to make. The last stop will be at Barfly.  There is no particular order for the stops in-between.  Each participant is given a score sheet which will be filled in as you progress along the route. At each designated stop, you will draw a card at random. The card drawn is then recorded on your score sheet and the master score sheet.  At the end of the run, the winners from all categories will be announced and prizes awarded.
(Next year’s causes will include:  Nebraska Humane Society, Lymphoma Research Foundation, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and 1 other by suggestion.)
Poker Run Rules
v Although this is a poker "run", there are no prizes for speed - it does not matter who is first to complete  the course. It is not a race.
v Each participant must have a poker score sheet that must be filled in by the designated dealer at each stop.
v The winning hand is determined by standard poker hand rankings. There will be 7 cards drawn and the best 5 of the 7 will be used to determine winners. (or in the case of the “worst hand” winner, the worst 5 cards will be used.)  At the final stop, you will be allowed to buy extra cards to replace any card in your hand for an additional $5 for 1st card, $10 for 2nd card.
v One deck of cards will be used at each stop point, where each participant will draw their own card,                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               record it on the score sheets, and return it to the designated dealer.  Participants will re-draw any cards that are duplicates. For example, if you draw the seven of clubs and you already have the seven of clubs on your score card, then you must put the card back and draw another card.
v If playing MORE than one hand, the participant must present the appropriate poker score sheet to be marked BEFORE each card is drawn.  It is the participants' responsibility to check their score sheet before leaving each checkpoint to ensure that the card they drew is correctly recorded.
v In case of a tie, there will be a draw for High Card to determine the winner.
v All decisions of the judges are FINAL!
By keeping to the above rules, this poker run should be a fun and enjoyable event for all concerned.
