VNA Speaker Series Shares Transportation Safety
VNA’s Free Speaker Series Continues October 4
VNA continues its five-part “Innovative Aging” Speaker Series at 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 4 at the Omaha Community Playhouse (6915 Cass Street). The free event is open to the public, and educates participants about available solutions to care for the aging baby boomer generation. VNA shares ideas, trends, programs, products and services available to our community to assist people who desire to age with independence.
VNA’s featured speaker on October 4 is Lee Myers, the Mobility Coordinator at Metropolitan Area Planning Agency. Myers will discuss “Getting There: Transportation for Seniors.” The topics he will cover include:
· Causes of health changes that may be of concern for safe driving
· Special techniques/equipment that may assist in promoting safe driving
· When it is time to “give up the keys”
· Alternative modes of transportation when it is not safe for an individual to continue driving
