Flying with a baby

Flying with a baby

Wow, it’s a lot of work flying with an infant.  We recently returned from San Diego with Jackson and are still taking advantage of not having to buy him a seat, since he’s under 2, but boy are we reconsidering!

Our flight pretty much went like this.  Mom’s lap, dad’s lap, mom’s lap, dad’s lap, a few Puffs, a bottle, a toy, picking up a toy off the ground, a pacifier, picking the pacifier up off the ground, to peek-a-boo, to back to mom’s lap, to dad’s lap, to mom’s lap to dad’s lap, to open the window, close the window, take dad’s hat off, put it on, play with a toy, try the bottle, maybe a puff, a little peek-a-boo to walking him up and down the aisles… and that was just on our way from Omaha to Denver!  Whew!  What a workout!

Methodist Health System offers great information on planning to travel, traveling with children, healthy air travel considerations, and even how to map out a safe vacation.

We thought it would be easier now that he’s older, but it’s not.  It’s still tough and stressful.  And, getting him to nap… no way!  Too many distractions!  By the time we got home, we were ready for another vacation!  Whew!
