The Out of the Darkness Community Walk is a 3-5 mile scenic walk taking place in more than 100 communities across the country this fall. Proceeds will benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, to fund research, education, survivor and awareness programs — both to prevent suicide and to assist those affected by suicide.
This Fundraising event for American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is your opportunity to fund the Nebraska chapter at the same time. We have been sanctioned as a Chapter, www.afsp.org/nebraska which means that 1/2 of all the net profit from the walk will come back to the Nebraska Chapter and can be used for AFSP approved programs locally.
This very scenic 5K walk begins at Miller's Landing Park Pavillion, (just north of Gallup University Campus at Abbott and Gallup Drives) follows riverwalk trail (passing by the new pedestrian bridge across the Missouri River) to Heartland of America Park, (around the big fountain) and returns to origin point. It is stroller and wheelchair friendly.
