Noah's Ark in Iowa
By glo @ 5:12 AM :: 13 Views :: 0 Comments

Star listener Donna did some follow up on an incredible effort to resuce animals displaced by the flooding in Iowa.. Here is what she found.

They have thousands of animals!!! Dogs, and cats of course, and horses and rabbits, ect. They go out every day and bring in more animals that they find roaming around.  It would be very difficult to get over there to help right now, and they have rescue volunteers there right now, but said to call in a week or 2 and see if they can use volunteers then. They asked for monetary donations. They expect to have to board these animals until August at least, and the donations usually go away after the initial crisis is over.
If you could get this info out so other people could send help to them too, I would appreciate it.
Here is the contact info I have:

Your digital footprint
By glo @ 6:17 AM :: 23 Views :: 0 Comments

With my college age daughter job hunting, we are keenly aware of the new trend of employers doing a web search.   Heather from Yahoo's Hotjobs  site was on the show  talking about your 'digital footprint'.    She had some great tips about resetting your  facebook or myspace account privacy settings...or changing it up to show off your best features for a job by adding your portfolio or resume.  I was also really impressed to hear that it is still important to send a handwritten thank you note after an interview....and spelling matters.

Here is a link to Heather's article on the subject:
